It was only a few short years later that we wrote our first book, Raising Real Men. We’ll never forget the first time it was for sale. Melanie was giving a workshop on parenting boys. At the end, she mentioned, “Hal and I have written a new book. We only brought a couple of boxes.” People got up and started leaving. She was so embarrassed, thinking they didn’t want to hear about it.
Instead, they were racing to buy it.
Within a few months, we were full-time authors and speakers. Unbelievable!
