Description
At last, the eagerly-awaited sequel
to the award-winning A Cry From Egypt!
A Stand At Sinai
Jarah, Ezra, Ada, Eitan and all our other friends join us again in one of the most thrilling eras in history. It’s like being there for the parting of the Red Sea, the battles with the Amalekites, an Israelite wedding (wonder who?), the temptations of the golden calf and the giving of the Ten Commandments.
A Stand at Sinai is the eagerly-awaited sequel to A Cry From Egypt, covering the period from the exodus from Egypt to the giving of the law at Mount Sinai in a gripping tale.
“What’s going on?” Jarah shook herself and sat up.
Ezra smiled and said, “Go outside and see for yourself.”
Jarah rubbed her eyes and stumbled out of the tent. She was completely unprepared for what she saw. Directly in front of her was the Red Sea, but there in the midst were two walls of water, shooting up into the air like a long fountain, in between the walls of water a broad pathway right through the sea to the distant opposite shore. The beach was already half-deserted, with a stream of Israelites going from one end of the Red Sea to the other.
The Promised Land – and freedom – lay ahead. Pharoah’s pursuing army would be just the first threat to face, though. They must learn to live. They must prepare to fight – but nothing prepares them for the dangers they carry within their own hearts.
Praise for A Cry from Egypt, the first book in the Promised Land series
”As a historian, I particularly admired her portrayal of ancient Egypt in the time of Moses … showing us the impact that the dramatic events of the Exodus must have had on ordinary families in Egypt. A Cry From Egypt is a great read … ” – Rob Shearer, author of The Greenleaf Guide to Old Testament History
“I have read more stories from young authors than I can count, but Hope’s work is the first to make me think of JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, and Frank Peretti when I read it.” – Patsy Brekke, WritingFoundations.com
